My home away from home. The owner and bartenders are some of my dearest friends. No food available, except on away game or occsaional celebration nights when we have potlucks. You can always have food delivered from the Three Legged Dog, Verti Mart or some other Quarter joint. To clarify: It is a locals' pub, yet everyone is welcome; the two pool tables are great; friendly dogs are allowed, but The Bar Dog is Gleason, not Jake.

Little Irish pub in the French Quarter, out of the way from the craziness of Bourbon Street. I stumbled into it while walking around the neighborhood, and it's a find. There really isn't too much to it: a couple of pool tables, darts, a few tables... But the atmosphere is friendly, as was the bartender, who chatted with us for a while and gave us some good recommendations for places to go eat. Not a tourist trap by any means (which is a nice change in the French Quarter), and the other patrons seemed to be locals. The drinks are cheap and strong (as they are in most New Orleans bars), and they have a pretty good selection of beers on tap. Cool place.
