The Pub

In Ireland every town has one. It’s the pub where the local’s themselves go. They are a place that you can get a casual bite to eat and a few pints or drinks. Somewhere that makes you feel good about yourself and a place that is always bustling with that famous Irish atmosphere and hospitality. The most important thing about an Irish Pub is that when people visit, they feel welcome.

The Pub Kieran’s Irish Pub first opened it’s doors to the folks of the Twins Cities on March 16th, 1994. The goal of Kieran’s has always been to showcase the best of what you expect when you enter an Irish Pub. The décor is reflective of the pubs in Ireland while also managing to bring in a flavor from its Minneapolis surroundings. Local artist John Erste has added his inimitable style with his murals that adorn the Kieran’s interior.

The Music

Kieran’s has become a premier venue for live Irish music week in and week out to it’s patrons. Jigs and reels mix comfortably with the rousing rebel songs and heartfelt ballads of yesterday. Kieran’s is happy to host a Traditional Session every Wednesday night at 9:00 pm. Local artists and visitors from the Emerald Isle all gather to strike up a tune that gets the toes tapping.


The Staff

The other important piece in what makes Kieran’s a special place is the staff. It’s fine to have the décor, menu, and entertainment lined up, but without the right staff to make it all happen, it unravels pretty quickly. The staff at Kieran’s, with their genuine personality are as much a part of the success of this downtown institution as all the other elements.


The Guest

And finally, the last part of the picture is the guest. Whether they stop in for a quiet pint, some lunch, or to gather with friends for a night of craic, it is the loyal Kieran’s customer that contributes most of the magic to the Irish pub. The goal of Kieran’s and it’s staff is to strive to bring you the best that Irish culture has to offer, without you having to look for your passport.
