O’Bryan’s Nine Irish Brothers

Nine Irish Brothers is a traditional Irish pub with two locations in Greater Lafayette, Indiana. Their flagship pub in West Lafayette is a short walk from Purdue University, and their second location on State Road 38 E in Lafayette is adjacent to the Tippecanoe Mall. Nine Irish Brothers is a family-owned and operated pub with a full bar and menu replete with Irish favorites (you can view their menu at http://www.nineirishbrothers.com/food-drink).
Nine Irish Brothers aims to be the place of choice for gathering with friends to share good conversation, good food and drink, and lively music in a friendly and upbeat environment, and they are quickly accomplishing this goal. Nine Irish Brothers regularly features regional and national Celtic rock and traditional Irish bands, as well as a house band, the Whiskey Runners; you can view their entertainment line-up at http://www.nineirishbrothers.com/events.
As for their drinks, Nine Irish Brothers features the largest Irish whiskey selection in the state of Indiana, and prides itself on having a state-of-the-art draught system. In fact, in a 2008 survey conducted by Diageo, Nine Irish Brothers rated as serving the best pint of Guinness in the entire United States. The pub has also received many accolades from local press, including the designations of "best appetizer," "best neighborhood bar," "best business lunch," and "best outdoor dining." According to owner Jerry O'Bryan, Nine Irish Brothers success can be attributed to three things. Namely, "we care about what we do, we provide the best service and products possible, and, most of all, we like to have fun."
O'Bryan is the youngest of nine brothers (Berton, Jim, Michael, Norman, Bobby, Tim, John, and Willie) and five sisters (Julie, Colleen, Patricia, Muriel, and Karen). Jerry pays tribute to his brothers with the pub's name, and honors his sisters with an inscription above the bar: & Five Irish Sisters. Family is the core concept of a traditional Irish pub, and Nine Irish Brothers is no exception; Family members helped to build the establishment and his two daughters and sons-in-law manage the day-to-day operations. Over the course of several trips to Ireland, the family has been able to hand-pick the furniture and decor and has also spent an inordinate amount of time "researching" pubs in Ireland. Next time you're in, ask for one of the family to show you around!
