Failte
There’s something very warm and inviting about Failte Irish Whiskey Bar, from its curved bar counter made from a walnut tree sliced in half and imported from the old country to its enormous cozy fireplace. Failte (pronounced Fall-cha in English) means "welcome" in Irish, and we stand by our name!
The bar on the main floor is very authentic-looking - red brick walls accented by a dark beamed ceiling. Fireplaces on both floors make it an excellent place to go and meet someone you know, or to meet someone new. The pub menu offers burgers, salads and Irish toasted sandwiches, which are always a favorite. The crowd is a pleasantly mixed bunch – from pre-movie goers (the Kips Bay AMC Theatre is located right across the street) to neighborhood residents to young lovers of the East Side. There is a party room upstairs, which caters events for 35 to 100 people. It’s a perfect place to end or begin your night in damn good company.

What can I say about this place? Love it! I came here for a friend's birthday party and had the best time. Its quaint and not pretentious like a lot of the other places in the city. My girlfriends and I were able to have drinks and talk without feeling like we had to "protect" ourselves from unwanted attention. The bartender (Pat?) made sure we were comfortable and was adorable 
I am already planning to do my engagement party there in December. Thank you again Failte for making the night amazing and eagerly waiting for my next visit!!!!

Hadint been back in a few months!! Went there this Friday. Had to go back on saturday. Good Times.

Amazing ambience and people!! They welcomed us from the start and quickly became our friends! One of the best places (and best kept secrets) in NYC!

I lived in NYC a few years ago and it was my local. We were in town for the weekend and decided to have our old crew meet there for old times sake. It is still one of the most fun bars to drink in. Also... if you look after the bartenders... they look after you!
