Beer-themed dinner to raise funds for ACS
A “beer-pairing dinner” will raise funds for the American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery program, which helps transport cancer patients to and from their treatments. The event will run from 4 to 7 p.m. May 5 at the Johnson City Elks Club, located at 4212 Watson Boulevard, Johnson City, N.Y. 13790. The cost is $40.
It will feature a different beer paired with each of five different courses. The appetizer course consists of mushroom stuffed escargot, chicken salad stuffed beer puffs, city chicken and bruchetta. The soup course will be cheddar cheese beer and bacon soup. The salad is a German potato salad with beer dressing. The main course is beer brats on a bed of spaetzle with a side of red cabbage, with Guinness stout brownies for dessert.
