Great Lakes Feis bring Irish experience
The Great Lakes Feis hosted more than just dancing Sunday.
Crowds wandered through the Lansing Center, eager to hear traditional instruments and music, watch artists create and craft with Irish themes and smell the aromas of Irish breads and baked goods.According to organizers, a feis (pronounced "fesh") comes from the Gaelic word "festival" and they wanted their event to impress on those attending the full import of such an Irish gathering. The dancers still performed reels, jigs and traditional dances worthy of a St. Patrick's Day parade.
Info from the Lansing State Journal.
