Irish music is only the beginning
Wildwood's weekend festival features Celtic dance, art, crafts, and literature.
Promoters of Cultural Exchange present their Inaugural Irish Summer Fest and Celtic Crossroads Concert on Friday and Saturday at the Wildwoods Convention Center.
From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the festival will feature workshops such as the Irish Ceili Dance, Bodhran Drum, Tin Whistle, and So You've Always Wanted to Play the Irish Harp. Music will be provided by performers including Roger Drawdy and the Firestarters, Barleyjuice, The John Byrne Band, Mary Kay Mann, and more. The festival will offer book readings and a Celtic Marketplace with Irish crafts and other collectibles.
The event is offered free for children ages 12 and younger when accompanied by their parents.
On both evenings will be a post-festival concert by traditional Irish band Celtic Crossroads at 7:30 p.m.
Irish Summer Fest, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday at Wildwoods Convention Center, 4501 Boardwalk, Wildwood. Admission: $10. Free for ages 12 and younger. Tickets for Celtic Crossroads Concert are $25 to $45 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster.com, by calling 1-800-745-3000 or at the Convention Center Box Office.
