The Great Midwest International Beer Festival - August 7th
Here’s a beer festival that also emphasizes food that’s good to eat with beer. It’s being done in partnership with the Greater Cincinnati Independent Restaurants, at the Drawbridge Inn in Fort Mitchell, Aug. 7.
The Great Midwest International Beer Festival will feature more than 100 beers for tasting, including local beers such as Mt. Carmel and Rivertown, international beers like Boddington’s and Hoegaarden, and American craft beers including Goose Island.
Members of the Greater Cincinnati Independent Restaurants will be doing food demonstrations and offering small plate samples. Some of the chefs will participate in “Beer & Burgers,” creating the perfect burger bite to go with a designated beer. Those chefs include Matt Winterrowd of the Summit Restaurant, Sean McCoy from the Brown Dog, Mac Ryan from Mac’s Pizza Pub, Jon Diebold of Washington Platform, Guy Burgess of Oriental Wok, and Harry and Gay Stephens of Bella Luna and The View.
There will be two sessions on Aug 7: noon-4 p.m. and 6-11 p.m. Each is $40 per person, with unlimited tastes of beer and food samples. At the door, it’s $45, but you can get tickets ahead of time at www.intlbeerfest.com
