Top Five Children’s Movies for St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick's Day isn't just for us grown ups anymore. Any store you go into has a ton of St. Patty's Day stuff for children of all ages including movies. What better way for your children to enjoy St. Patrick's Day then with a good St. Patty's Day movie. I've gathered what I consider to be the top five children's movies for St. Patrick's Day.

1. The Luck of the Irish - This is an adorable movie that's great for the kids since it is from Disney. It's about a teenage boy named Kyle who has a pot o' gold charm that has always brought him luck. Then one day he looses the pot o' gold charm and that's when he learns the truth about his families back round. His mother is a leprechaun which makes him part leprechaun. Kyle is in a race against time. He has to defeat this thief that stole his pot o' gold charm before the thief is able to gain control over all of the leprechauns. The movie stars Henry Gibson, Glenndon Chatman, Ryan Merriman, Alexis Lopez and Marita Geraghty. It's not rated but is ok for all ages and is 1 hour and 26 minutes.

2. Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers - The Last Leprechaun - This is a cute movie which stars the two little furry rodents Chip and Dale who always find something to get themselves into. However this time they duo are matching wits with a feisty little Leprechaun. The movie is 30 minutes long and highly recommended for the little ones.

3. A Very Unlucky Leprechaun - This movie is about a girl named Molly and her father who inherit a house in Ireland. Molly then discovers a leprechaun is living in their new house in Ireland. This leprechaun has not eaten a four leaf clover is over one hundred years and because of that has bad luck. This leprechaun's bad luck starts to rub off onto Molly. The movie stars Danielle Lombardi, Warwick Davis, Tim Matheson, Lisa Thornhill and Stephanie Lombardi. It is rated PG and is 1 hour and 32 minutes.

4. The Gnome-Mobile - This is a movie about an eccentric millionaire and his grandchildren. The millionaire and his grandchildren get involved in the plight of some gnomes in the forest who are searching for the rest of their tribe. The movie stars Matthew Garber, Tom Lowell, Walter Brennan Karen Dotrice and Richard Deacon. The movie is rated G and is 1 hour and 29 minutes.

5. The Magical Land of the Leprechauns - An adorable Hallmark movie about a business man who rents a cottage on the "magical" Emerald Isle. This cottage he rents just so happens to have fairies and leprechauns living in it. The Grand Banshee chooses the business man to try and help bring peace to the island after a young leprechaun falls in love with a fairy princess one night at a party. Their romance is strictly forbidden and it starts a war between the mythical communities. This movie stars Randy Quaid, Kieran Culkin, Colm Meaney, Whoopi Goldberg and Roger Daltrey. It was released in 1999 and is an adorable movie for the entire family.

Any one of these movies would be great for the kids. Grab a bowl of popcorn sit down as a family and enjoy one together. That's a wonderful way to enjoy the holiday. After all we're all Irish on St. Patrick's Day.
