“Treebeard” Band on Tour

Treebeard was formed in 1998 by Haze & World Turtle brothers Chris & Paul McMahon plus Paul Chisnell (of Haze) and Gordon Walker, and were joined in 2006 by Ceri Ashton (of The Outlandish Knights & Hiraeth). Original guitarist Chris Jellis left the band in early 2009.

The band play original compositions as well as a selection of rock, pop, folk (& even country!) songs & tunes on a variety of acoustic instruments, including "The Ace of Spades" on fiddle & accordion, and Russian & Croatian tunes on giant balalaikas.

They are regulars on the beer festival circuit, playing Sheffield, Derby, Tamworth, Newark, Stockport, Lincoln, Stoke & Barnsley festivals, as well as performing at Earls Court for the Great British Beer Festival, and at the Cropredy fringe in 2008.

Treebeard have just released their 2nd CD "Reel Ale" on Gabadon Records which is available to buy from http://www.treebeard.org.uk.


Line-up:-
Paul Chisnell - bodhran, djembe, hand drums, talking drum, snare, congas, tambourine, vocals.
Chris McMahon - 12 string acoustic guitar, bouzouki, balalaika, accordion, vocals.
Paul McMahon - 6 string acoustic guitar, mandolin, semi acoustic, bass, contra bass balalaika, vocals.
Gordon Walker - violin, mandolin, vocals.
Ceri Ashton - flute, viola, fiddle, vocals.
